UPDATE 41: PROPERTY MATTERS
|
|
|
|
Hello
In this update, we're looking at property matters - what could happen if you spend money on a property without regard to legal documentation or planning requirements?
Note that the Stamp duty threshold changes again from 1 October 2021, dropping down to £125,000. From 1st July until 30th September 2021, no Stamp Duty has been payable on homes valued up to £250,000.
These changes always spark an increase in activity in the property market, and since the period up to Christmas is often a busy one, it’s never too soon to have a chat with us to help you through the conveyancing process.

• Elite-boxing Thai-boxing club in Bolton were the winners of our Local Lockdown Legend Award. Fieldings Porter's Peter Cunliffe and Matthew presented the £150 Amazon.com voucher to Chantelle, which was donated by our firm. Elite-boxing Thai-boxing nominated Bolton Nice as their charity of choice, and they also received a £150 Amazon voucher.
During the pandemic lockdown, amongst several things, Elite-boxing Thai-boxing prepared and distributed meals to local families who were struggling, and ran 30 miles for Whysup, a local charity providing help for those with mental health and addiction issues. Whilst we were there,
Matthew couldn’t resist a round!

How long have you worked for Fieldings Porter?
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The people I work with. We have an amazing team and the support we have makes the job that little bit easier, especially on the very stressful days!
What’s the highlight of your career to date? Good feedback from clients – assisting clients in one of the most stressful situations they can be in, and doing a good job so that they think it isn’t as bad as they thought; I find that very rewarding.
If you weren’t a Licensed Conveyancer what would you be doing?
Something completely different! I think I would have studied History or Geography and seen where that route would have taken me,
although a specific job does not spring to mind.
When you’re not working, we’d be most likely to find you?
More than likely playing football with my sons in the garden or the field.
What is your favourite book?
The Last Voyage of the Valentina by Santa Montefiore.
