We hope that you are keeping well and staying safe and we wish you and your family all the best for the forthcoming Easter time.
150 YEAR ANNIVERSARY - LOOK WHAT HAPPENED THIS MONTH! During March, Matthew, the Fieldings Porter panda, visited Endeavour, our Charity of the Year in 2019, with gifts for service users in readiness for Mother's Day.
• He donated 36 Easter
Eggs to the Bolton Lads and Girls Club, Bolton.
• Continuing the Easter Egg theme, 50 more were donated to Out There - a charity which supports the families of prisoners.
• More Easter Eggs!! to Endeavour (Matthew does like them!).
• We also donated a lovely table and chairs to Mill View Care Home so visitors and residents will have more opportunities to meet together outside. See pics and read more about Matthew's adventures on our 150th Anniversary Facebook
page!
2021 marks a significant milestone in the growth of Fieldings Porter as one of the top legal firms in the UK. This year we celebrate 150 years of providing solid legal support to communities in the North West and nationwide.
LOCKDOWN LEGENDS Do you know a LOCAL LOCKDOWN LEGEND? Someone who you feel is worthy of recognition for their outstanding efforts? Someone who has been a shining light in these darkest of times? Maybe it’s a Key Worker who has ‘kept calm and carried on’? Or a home schooling hero? A Childcare champion? Someone who has provided services to the community to keep spirits up? WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!!! A year has now passed since the start of the first national lockdown. In the beginning, we were hopeful that social distancing would be a short-term inconvenience and that we would not really need stockpiles of hand sanitiser and loo roll.
We all hoped that life would be back to
normal by summertime 2020. Sadly, that was not to be and despite the outstanding efforts of our NHS and others working within the healthcare services, infection rates continued to rise, and the weeks turned in to months, and now years.
And whilst the whole of our local community in Greater Manchester is to be congratulated for its response to the difficult adjustments and sacrifices that have had to be made, we at Fieldings Porter recognise that there are some who have risen to this challenge in an extraordinary way.
Those who have gone above and beyond in the face of adversity in the last 12 months.
As part of the celebration of our 150 years, we want to ‘shine a light’ on those in Greater Manchester who have made a real difference during the challenging 12 months that we have all endured, as we look forward to what will hopefully be brighter days ahead. Over the coming weeks, Fieldings Porter would like to share the stories of LOCAL LOCKDOWN LEGENDS, to highlight their efforts over the past 12 months. Nominations will be put to our panel, who will choose an OUTSTANDING LOCKDOWN LEGEND. That person will receive a special prize by way of a thank you for their efforts.
We will donate £150 to the charity of choice of the OUTSTANDING LOCKDOWN LEGEND. The winner will also receive £150 in Amazon vouchers.
If you would like to nominate a LOCAL LOCKDOWN LEGEND,
please follow this link to tell us their story.
Hurry, the closing date for nominations is 14 May 2021.

Some say since 1871, some say since 1 January 2021. I’m not really sure myself.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Spending time with the great staff at Fieldings Porter. They take me to see lovely people as I’m bearing (pun intended!) gifts and I look very handsome in all the photographs.
What’s the highlight of your career to date? Being the firm’s mascot for 2021!
If you weren’t a solicitor what would you be doing
Apparently my practising certificate to give advice has lapsed… but the upside is I can concentrate on my charity work.
When you’re not working, we’d be most likely to find you?
When I’m not travelling in cars on the way to visiting people I like to join my friends at (socially distanced) teddy bear picnics.
What is your favourite book?
Ooh, there are lots but I do like to curl up in the evening reading about my friends Winnie the Pooh, Paddington and Rupert.
Recommend a place to visit in Manchester/Bolton
There are so many!! But I do like being at home at Fieldings Porter, 32 Silverwell Street, Bolton.
