How long have you worked for Fieldings Porter?
Nine years (Gosh, time flies!)

What do you enjoy most about your job?
Working in family law, our clients usually instruct us at what is commonly the most emotionally distressing time of their lives. Advising them through that time and seeing them come out of the other side of it, can be extremely rewarding.

What’s the highlight of your career to date?
Oh, this is a hard one. Case wise, there is a particular case that sticks out in my mind is one where I represented a young mother whose children had been placed in foster care due to her poor mental health. She had tried to access support when she realised her mental health was deteriorating but, sadly, it was not provided until her mental health had hit a crisis point. In the absence of a family network to fall back on, the Local Authority had to intervene to safeguard her children. Seeing her get the help, support and treatment she needed to get well again and, after lengthy court proceedings, regain care of her children was great.

Personally, when I was promoted to Associate Solicitor in April 2019.

If you weren’t a Solicitor what would you be doing?
I genuinely don’t know! I don’t think I ever thought about being anything else – even when I was picking GCSE options!

When you’re not working where would we be most likely to find you?
Most probably either spending time with my family and friends, exercising, eating (I love food) or planning my next holiday.

What is your favourite book?
I haven’t got one – it changes every time I read a good one.

Recommend a place to visit in Manchester/Bolton
Walk up to the Rivington Pike (on a clear day you can see for miles) and then have some refreshments in the barn afterwards.
