Fieldings Porter partner Peter Cunliffe has been elected Vice President of the Bolton Law Society for 2019, and will take over the Presidency in 2020.

Peter said "I'm delighted to be given this honour, following in the footsteps of many people from Fieldings Porter who have undertaken this role in years gone by. I hope to be able to contribute something to the work of the Society, addressing issues that affect the town and its people at a wider level, whenever there’s an interaction with the law"
Property Wins
Our property team recently completed on the purchase of a £1.1m hotel in Yorkshire, the purchase of 5 apartments in Lancaster for an investor, and the sale of a £1.2m apartment in Manchester. This is just a fraction of the many property transactions we carry out each month. Housing cases rated 'Excellent' in Peer Review
Fieldings Porter have received a category 1 rating of 'Excellence' from the Legal Aid Agency, after a Peer Review report on our Housing cases. Peer reviews - as the name suggests - are reviews carried out anonymously by firms of solicitors on each other. Comments from the review included:

"On all files reviewed, the matters progressed comprehensively and appropriately, with a number highlighting the provider [Fieldings Porter] obtaining a positive outcome for their clients. The provider evidently always sought to prepare the best possible case for clients and the outcomes frequently demonstrated tactical awareness and expertise."

"The provider frequently obtained excellent outcomes for clients efficiently within a short period of time, with emphasis on settlement at an early stage."

"There were numerous examples of effective case-planning and analysis, often at early stages in the cases, which assisted the provider to work towards realistic and positive conclusions for clients. It was evident from the files that there was an excellent use of tactics and strategies, demonstrating skill and expertise and taking a fully-proactive approach in an attempt to ensure the best outcomes for clients. In so doing, the provider added value to their business."

"Across the files reviewed, there was consistently excellent client care."

All credit to Fraser Young, the solicitor and partner in charge of the housing cases.
